About The Position

The Packaging Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining automatic packaging machinery under limited supervision, ensuring efficient, high-quality packaging operations in compliance with established standards and procedures. The role encompasses machine setup, adjustment, and troubleshooting to maintain conformity with product specifications and to optimize equipment performance. The Packaging Technician also ensures that packaging and product quality requirements are consistently met. This role will require a working schedule on 3rd shift. Sunday - Thursday 11pm to 7am.

Requirements

Machinery Operation: Ability to operate automatic packaging machines and understand mechanical systems.
Machine Setup & Adjustment: Proficiency in setting up and adjusting machines, including speed and other parameters, to conform to various product specifications.
Troubleshooting: Diagnostic skills to identify and resolve minor machine problems, and determine when to escalate issues to maintenance.
Equipment Maintenance: Basic skills in maintaining equipment and reporting necessary repairs.

Responsibilities

Operate automatic packaging machines according to procedures and standards
Setup, adjust, and monitor machines, controlling speed and ensuring product specifications are met
Troubleshoot minor equipment problems and escalate repair needs to maintenance staff
Ensure all packaging and product requirements are fulfilled
Lift and carry 30 lb spools of film as part of daily operations
Collaborate with production team for product quality and workflow efficiency
Report any unusual equipment issues or conditions to management
Pursue training as necessary to operate new packaging machinery
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area
