About The Position

We are looking for a talented Packaging Technician - Level III to join our team specializing in Logistics for our Cummins Inc. facility in Fridley, MN.

Requirements

  • Experience in Logistics
  • Ability to support daily packaging operations
  • Ability to implement site-level packaging changes
  • Experience managing supplier packaging activities
  • Experience managing Packaging Data Sheets within the Packaging Data Management System
  • Experience managing returnable packaging programs
  • Ability to maintain accurate inventories
  • Ability to perform fleet size and demand analyses
  • Experience collaborating with Material Planning and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to adjust forecasts, container flows, and packaging processes
  • Experience with PFEP data, repack instructions, and maintenance cycles
  • Ability to partner with packaging suppliers to design, qualify, and implement new packaging solutions
  • Ability to respond to urgent packaging issues
  • Ability to identify packaging-related defects
  • Experience submitting supplier non-conformance claims through CQMS
  • Ability to implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Ability to informally guide less experienced technicians
  • Ability to participate in improvement teams
  • Strong focus on HSE, quality, and workplace organization

Responsibilities

  • Drive efficiency, cost savings, and sustainability improvements by supporting daily packaging operations and implementing site‑level packaging changes under minimal supervision.
  • Lead supplier packaging activities at the site to ensure compliance with global standards, including managing Packaging Data Sheets within the Packaging Data Management System.
  • Strengthen material flow and cost control by managing the site’s returnable packaging program, maintaining accurate inventories, and performing fleet size and demand analyses.
  • Collaborate with Material Planning and cross‑functional teams to adjust forecasts, container flows, and packaging processes such as PFEP data, repack instructions, and maintenance cycles.
  • Partner directly with packaging suppliers to design, qualify, and implement new packaging solutions that improve safety, quality, and production performance.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to urgent packaging issues that impact safety, quality, environmental compliance, or production continuity.
  • Improve product quality by identifying packaging‑related defects, submitting supplier non‑conformance claims through CQMS, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support team capability and operational excellence by informally guiding less experienced technicians, participating in improvement teams, and maintaining a strong focus on HSE, quality, and workplace organization.
