Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Min. 6 months of Packaging Operator experience preferred.
Some lead experience preferred.
Good mechanical skills.
Capable of lifting 55 pounds.
Capable of standing for a minimum of 12 hours.
Able to work with multiple types of equipment simultaneously.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs.
Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms.
Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
Occasionally required to sit.
Must act in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times by adhering to all ALPLA policies and procedures and Safety Standards (OSHA).

Responsibilities

Coordinates with Shift Supervisor the packaging needs on production equipment.
Ensures all lines are adequately supplied with materials needed (e.g., Foil, Cartons, Trays).
Assists Packaging Operators as needed to ensure a smooth workflow.
Sets up and operates multiple types of packaging equipment, including carton erectors, partition inserters, product inserters, top closers, and palletization equipment.
Ensures labels correctly match the product in facilities where manual labeling is required.
Manages and assigns break schedules for packers.
Supports troubleshooting and training initiatives for Packers.
Audits packer standard work and completion.
Audits packer quality checks and completion.
Completes staffing reports for packer staff.
Completes package paperwork.
Updates and completes packer training documentation.
