About The Position
The basic function of Packaging Shipping Control is to verify and keep records on outgoing shipments; prepare items for shipment; and compile records concerned with storing, issuing and shipping product.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
Nice To Haves
- Six months to one year related experience and or training.
Responsibilities
- Compare identifying information and counts, weigh, or measure items on outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Determine method of packaging and shipping.
- Affix shipping labels on packed cartons and stamps identifying information on cartons.
- Assemble cardboard containers or select pre-assembled container.
- Insert items into containers and packs with suitable packing material to prevent handling damage during shipment or storage.
- Post weights and shipping charges if necessary on paperwork.
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Prepare product for shipment/storage by wrapping, bagging, tagging, or binding according to product specification.
- Consistently use GOLD (Geater Operations Linking Database) for accurate work instructions.
