About The Position

Asahi Beer USA / Octopi Brewing is hiring a full-time Packaging Shift Lead to run a packaging line and lead a crew of 7–10 employees. The role supervises bottle, can, and keg operations, makes day-to-day production decisions, and works with the Packaging Management Team to keep production efficient and quality high. It combines team leadership with hands-on machine operation as needed.

The opening is for second shift, Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. The base rate is $28 per hour, with a $3-per-hour second-shift differential, for a stated second-shift rate of $31 per hour. The posting also lists rates for other shifts. The position is full-time and non-exempt.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior manufacturing experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift 55 pounds and move 165 pounds as needed, and to bend, stoop, and reach repeatedly.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Flexibility with working hours.

Nice To Haves

• Brewery or beverage industry experience.
• Forklift experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 7–10 employees on shift, delegate work, triage requests, and minimize downtime.
• Build the weekly shift staffing schedule and handle PTO approvals.
• Confirm the appropriate packaging mix and materials before each fill and keep the team informed about tank status.
• Coordinate training and maintain current SOPs so shift employees are trained and efficient.
• Complete daily shift and production reports, including QA/QC sheets, pallet tickets, and run data.
• Work with the team to identify issues and submit maintenance work orders.
• Support CIPs and preventative maintenance, and operate the bottle filler, canning line, and kegger as needed.
• Model safe work practices, adherence to SOPs and cleaning procedures, and maintenance of a clean, organized workspace.
