About The Position

A Packaging Production Worker reports to our Packaging Supervisor and plays a key role in delivering quality candy products to customers everywhere. In this hands-on position, you’ll help keep production moving by performing all duties assigned involving the packaging of product. This includes packing cases or caddies, gathering, mixing, and feeding packaging equipment with product, marking cases or cartons, inspection of product, and assembly of cartons or cases. The employee will be required to perform unassisted, constant and repetitive lifting of materials weighing 25 lbs. Regular, predictable, full-time attendance is required as an essential function of this position. Overtime as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement is mandatory. An essential function of this job is a requirement to work all hours scheduled.

Requirements

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers in English.
Ability to write and speak simple sentences in English.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Maintain each respective work area in a safe and sanitary condition.
Less than high school education; or three (3) to six (6) months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Regular, predictable, full-time attendance is required.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
May be required to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted.
Must seek assistance on all lifting of over 50 pounds.
