About The Position

The CVS Packaging Operator will be responsible for a wide variety of weighing, mixing, filling and packaging activities including weighing packaged materials, filling boxes, sealing packages. This role reports directly into our Production Supervisor but has partnership with the Operations Manager, supply chain team, and operators.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D and one or more years’ related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret, proof, type and handle all common clerical functions
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
  • Close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, control, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk.
  • Ability to clearly hear and respond to audible alarms, production equipment, forklifts, and other machinery to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ability to distinguish and understand verbal communication including instructions, safety warnings, and team discussions, sometimes in an environment with moderate to high background noise.

  • Ability to autonomously run existing equipment and learn new automated machinery

Responsibilities

  • Count and hand pack individual boxes of finished product in an orderly and efficient manner.
  • Organize packaged products into shipping boxes and then place on skids.
  • Participate in inventory cycle counting and other physical duties as assigned.
  • Read, follow, and complete work orders and additional documentation as required.
  • Comply with internal quality system and general company policies.
  • Able to follow procedures relating to proper storage and handling of chemicals, labels, and other packaging supplies.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives in production processes
  • Follow all written and verbal instructions and guidelines
  • Communicate and work effectively with team members to meet production goals and quotas
  • Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude
  • Observe all safety guidelines and report concerns to management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and equipment
