About The Position

This position is for a Packaging Operator on Line 20. The role involves working as a team member with mechanics to operate Packaging Line 20 safely and productively. Key responsibilities include maintaining required paperwork such as quality checks and production reports, performing quality checks according to the Nestle QMS, maintaining general housekeeping and food safety sanitation, adhering to good manufacturing practices, supporting a continuous improvement culture, minimizing waste, and completing inventory transactions. Requirements

  • Consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to report to work on time, maintain regular attendance, and work scheduled hours.
  • Basic proficiency of English language to comply with verbal and written directions, signs, policies and procedures.
  • Willing and able to stand on a frequent basis.
  • Willing and able to work overtime.
  • Willing and able to work various shifts.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous lift truck certification and experience highly desired.
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Packaging Line 20 in a safe and productive manner.
  • Maintain all required paperwork including quality checks, production reports, and inventory documentation.
  • Perform and understand quality checks and associated paperwork in accordance with the Nestle QMS.
  • Maintain general housekeeping and food safety related sanitation.
  • Learn and adhere to good manufacturing practices.
  • Support and contribute to a continuous improvement culture.
  • Look for ways to minimize waste, which may include reworking material.
  • Complete and understand all inventory transactions required for the position.
  • Supply machine centers with packaging and raw materials.
  • Inspect materials before use, verify correct material and raw ingredient usage to meet CCP requirements.
  • Reject any damaged or deficient materials not meeting specifications.
  • Maintain a food factory level of sanitation.
  • Communicate with operators, mechanics, and management.
  • Follow safety objectives & targets, plant safety rules, report incidents & unsafe conditions immediately, and maintain compliance with regulations.
  • Adhere to the Nestlé USA Waverly Environmental Policy, Pollution Prevention Plan, and Annual Environmental Objectives & Targets.
  • Support the continual improvement of energy conservation, solid waste minimization and management, and prevention of pollution.
  • Operate and adjust packaging equipment in a safe manner.
  • Modify running conditions to maintain performance standards.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by a supervisor.
