About The Position

This role is primarily responsible for automated packaging line activities. The Packaging Operator will inspect packaged material for conformance with specifications, tally products, and observe operations to identify equipment malfunctions and/or repair needs, making adjustments as needed. This position collaborates with the Packaging Supervisor to ensure safety and production goals are achieved.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse and/or packaging environments.
• Good math, language, and reading skills.
• Knowledge of proper PPE requirements.
• Functional knowledge of handling rail cars.
• Basic computer skills may be required.

Responsibilities

• Record product, packaging, and other information on specific forms and/or warehouse management systems.
• Work in a safe manner and follow all company rules and policies concerning safety and PPE.
• Ensure a productive, safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
• Maintain productivity and quality levels as set by the Packaging Supervisor.
• Conduct visual checks of machinery and escalate any issues to appropriate management.
• Perform required clean down duties between packaging assignments.
• Identify damages and report overages/shortages for quality deficiencies.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the Packaging Supervisor.
