A packaging operator is a professional who works in manufacturing or industrial settings, operating and monitoring machinery to produce goods. They are responsible for setting up, adjusting, maintaining, and troubleshooting the equipment to ensure efficient and safe production and must have the ability to work in a safe manner, follow safety guidelines. This role requires understanding and following Food Safety policies, the ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays, and the ability to read and understand recipes. The operator will troubleshoot process-related issues, use digital scales, and mix doughs according to recipes, understanding the mixer's operation. Key responsibilities include following FIFO, ensuring lot number accuracy, cleaning and refilling ingredient bins, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area. The position also involves observing plant safety, GMP, and allergen procedures, and attending training sessions. The operator is responsible for manufacturing safe and quality food by adhering to good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP, and SQF requirements, and must immediately report any food safety or quality issues to their supervisor. They must also follow supervisor directives and support the shift team as needed. Third shift hours are generally from 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, starting Monday night.
