About The Position

Mars is hiring a Packaging Operator to join the Royal Canin factory team in Lebanon, Tennessee. The Packaging Operator is a multi-skilled packing associate responsible for operating automated packing machines efficiently while maintaining high safety and quality standards. The role also contributes to identifying and delivering continuous improvement projects within the packaging hall. This is a day position on A-Shift, working a 12-hour schedule of four days on and four days off. Day hours are 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The position holder may be trained to perform other jobs consistent with the skill level and physical demands of the role.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to multitask.
Attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Ability to manage equipment autonomously.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a food manufacturing environment and operating high-speed packing machines.
Mechanical background.

Responsibilities

Operate automated packing machines efficiently.
Set up packing machines, load packing materials, make machine adjustments, and ensure proper sanitation.
Clear machine jams, rework defective packaging, troubleshoot machine faults, and maintain glue and ink supplies.
Perform and document quality checks throughout the packaging process, ensuring compliance with Quality, Food Safety, and legislative standards.
Follow safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures, when operating and maintaining equipment.
Complete Cleaning, Inspection, and Lubrication (CIL) tasks on daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
Identify and deliver continuous improvement projects within the packaging hall.
