The Packaging Operator applies technical knowledge of packaging materials and equipment to set up, operate, and troubleshoot the packaging equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to quality specification sheets, customer satisfaction and company policy. The Packaging Operator has the authority to place raw or finished product on hold if a quality attribute is not met. Your day-to-day may consist of: Operate and set up all packaging equipment, perform changeovers, troubleshoot issues, and maximize line efficiencies based on process and product specifications. Conduct essential safety and quality checks, including pre-operational equipment inspections, code date verifications, metal detection, and machine adjustments to maintain standards. Manage materials and documentation, including ordering/issuing raw materials, reconciling usage, performing rework processes, and completing all required data collection accurately. Uphold safety, sanitation, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), maintaining a clean work area, following safety regulations, and supporting production projects or line coordination. Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other operators to facilitate changeovers, assist during breaks, and contribute to production initiatives. This role works in a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to loud noises, strong odors, temperature fluctuations, moving machinery, wet or humid conditions, hazardous chemicals, high or confined areas, extreme temperatures, and vibration throughout various facility areas. This role also regularly engages in prolonged standing, walking, communicating, and sensory tasks throughout each shift, while frequently handling objects, climbing, balancing, and performing various physical movements such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as part of job duties. The use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus is required.
