About The Position

The Packaging Operator is responsible for the daily operation and monitoring of packaging machinery to ensure efficient production processes. This role requires a strong understanding of machine functions, the ability to perform basic troubleshooting, and the accurate completion of production and quality documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or packaging environment is an asset
  • Ability to operate machinery and use production equipment safely
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in paperwork and production processes
  • Ability to complete documentation and records accurately and efficiently
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Capable of lifting, moving, and handling materials in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends or overtime if required
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures is preferred
  • Basic computer and record-keeping skills are an asset
  • Must have machine operator experience

Responsibilities

  • Operate, start up, and shut down production and packaging machinery safely and efficiently
  • Set up and adjust packaging equipment to meet daily production requirements
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain machinery and equipment used in production processes
  • Perform routine equipment checks to ensure safe and reliable operation
  • Ensure packaging supplies and production materials are available and properly stocked on the production line
  • Inspect products and packaging to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
  • Label finished products accurately and complete final product inspections
  • Maintain accurate documentation, labeling, inventory tracking and reporting while ensuring compliance with internal procedures and external regulations.
  • Complete all required paperwork, production records, and quality documentation accurately and on time.
  • Move completed pallets and finished goods to designated storage or shipping areas
  • Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or production issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain product quality
  • Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process in accordance with company standards and regulations
  • Follow workplace safety, sanitation and food safety procedures at all times
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
