About The Position

The Robot Packaging Operator III role is responsible for operating the packaging conveyors, bag flattener, and robot machines. This role involves replenishing supplies in the robot such as pallets, stretch wrap, and slip sheets. The operator will also collect empty bags for the bagging operator as needed and store finished product pallets in the warehouse appropriately. This is a 3rd shift role with a $3/hour shift differential. The schedule is 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
  • Good customer service must be exhibited at all times.
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces.
  • Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, and gloves when required.
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet working conditions.
  • Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a manufacturing environment.
  • Self-motivated with a solid work ethic.
  • Good attitude and works well in team atmosphere.
  • Handles other duties as required.
  • Maintain excellent attendance.
  • Must have adequate quality training.

Responsibilities

  • Operate packaging conveyors, bag flattener, and robot machines.
  • Replenish supplies in the robot (pallets, stretch wrap, slip sheets).
  • Collect empty bags for the bagging operator as needed.
  • Store finished product pallets in the warehouse appropriately.
  • Follow the expectations of all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards.
  • Ensure product quality expectations are met.
  • Follow all facility Good Manufacturing Practices as required.
  • Ensure area is kept clean and complete all listed housekeeping duties per the master sanitation schedule.
  • Work with other Operations colleagues to effectively communicate production issues.
  • Provide mentoring and training to new colleagues once qualified.
  • Work overtime as specified by management.
  • Attend training classes in-plant or at other locations as assigned.
  • Follow the production lineup to package all feeds in accordance with Akralos Product Specifications and established quality guidelines.
  • Notify Plant Leadership if any out-of-spec quality conditions exist, including checking bag weights, proper clean-out, sequencing, labeling, and other quality concerns before, during, and after a packaging run.
  • Safely and efficiently operate all necessary equipment at all times (i.e., fork truck, etc.).
  • Follow all Akralos quality assurance guidelines and notify Plant Leadership if any out-of-spec quality conditions develop.
  • Complete assigned work orders, paperwork, and tasks in a timely manner.
  • Follow all established plant safety rules.
  • Provide training as necessary for new and existing employees when needed.
  • Be willing to be trained to help or backup the packaging operators in their housekeeping duties which may include climbing the packing bin tower, blowing down, scraping the mixer/hopper/scales, or other duties as directed by Plant Leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Leadership.
