About The Position

The Packaging Manufacturing Technician executes and operates machinery, mastering packaging activities and processes in two or more functional areas with basic knowledge. They are trained and execute in the Maintenance area. This level performs a series of tasks related to mechanical "Changeover" in the area and requires mastery of Corrective/Preventive Maintenance. They possess good mechanical skills, basic and intermediate "Troubleshooting" abilities, and provide support to Maintenance Technicians in "Troubleshooting". They recommend actions for the optimization of packaging systems, support capital projects and validations, and coordinate and/or lead equipment maintenance activities. They execute activities related to manual packaging processes, perform cleaning and sanitization tasks for equipment and rooms, and carry out various functions such as physical and visual tests, sample collection, material movement, documentation, system transactions, and data collection for measurements. They train new employees in their areas of knowledge and colleagues as part of the cross-training program, and perform tasks related to material and/or product inspection.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and four (4) years of experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry OR Technical Degree and two (2) years of experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand Spanish, preferably Spanish and English.
  • Availability to work 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th shifts.
  • Flexibility to change shifts or work week, work overtime, weekends, and holidays as per business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Skills in using computerized programs: SAP, ePES, electronic document management, Learning Management System, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with OEE, C/O, and Schedule Attainment metrics.
  • Ensures process room parameters (temperature, humidity, differential pressure, etc.) meet specifications before, during, and after the process.
  • Possesses basic knowledge of machines and/or equipment in their functional area, including design and maintenance.
  • Executes and operates machinery, mastering production tasks in two or more functional areas.
  • Performs assembly and disassembly of machines and/or production equipment during "Changeover" processes.
  • Operates, adjusts, and performs light mechanical maintenance on assigned packaging equipment, as well as preventive maintenance.
  • Supports maintenance technicians in equipment maintenance execution, identifying and resolving failures, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Knows and performs transactions in electronic systems for OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) data collection.
  • Analyzes problems, recurring situations, and eliminates line stoppages.
  • Assembles components and/or product packaging throughout the entire process.
  • Performs and documents cleaning and sanitization of equipment and parts during line changes ("Changeover"), major and/or minor, according to established procedures.
