About The Position

The Packaging Machine Technician I position is responsible for setting up, changing over, making mechanical adjustments, and performing repairs on packaging machinery and/or equipment within the Packaging Department. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of packaging production lines and supporting the company's mission of protecting and enhancing eye health.

Requirements

Associates Degree in a maintenance-related field OR 10 years of maintenance experience with a High School Diploma/GED.
2-3 years of experience in industrial maintenance or electrical maintenance, preferably in a Packaging operation.
Basic computer skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to work within a team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

PLS applications knowledge.
Excellent troubleshooting ability.
Working knowledge of tools.
Knowledge of the packaging process.

Responsibilities

Set-up, operate, maintain, and clean equipment on the Packaging production lines.
Troubleshoot, adjust, and correct equipment issues and failures.
Assist Packaging Assemblers and support/participate in improvement projects.
Perform bottle size changeovers.
Initiate and complete work orders.
Document changeover activities.
Perform administrative responsibilities including data entry, recording downtime, and batch record information.
Communicate updates about daily events.
Order replacement parts.
Train Packaging Machine Specialists.
