About The Position

The Packaging Line Operator ensures the efficient operation of assigned packaging lines under normal supervision. This role is responsible for equipment setup, adjustments, quality checks, product flow, and maintaining safe and sanitary work practices throughout the packaging process. The role works in a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to loud noises, strong odors, temperature fluctuations, moving machinery, wet or humid conditions, hazardous chemicals, high or confined areas, extreme temperatures, and vibration throughout various facility areas. This role also regularly engages in prolonged standing, walking, communicating, and sensory tasks throughout each shift, while frequently handling objects, climbing, balancing, and performing various physical movements such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as part of job duties. The use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus is required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification required.
  • Maintains a continuous learning mindset and adapts quickly to new equipment, processes, and roles.
  • Demonstrates strong technical ability with a digital-first approach, embracing new technologies and accurately entering data.
  • Communicates clearly with all levels of the organization, follows instructions (written/oral/diagram form), and completes necessary documentation independently in English.
  • Pays close attention to detail, prioritizing product quality, safety, and accurate record-keeping.
  • Physically capable of meeting job requirements and consistently brings a positive, team-focused attitude to work.
  • Demonstrates adaptability, technical proficiency, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills while working independently or collaboratively to ensure effective and logical decision-making in diverse situations.
  • Demonstrates the physical capability to bend frequently and lift heavy objects (up to 40 pounds), alongside proficiency in safely operating Powered Industrial Vehicles to support workplace operations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, set up, and adjust all equipment on assigned packaging lines, ensuring proper function and efficiency.
  • Perform product changeovers, quality inspections, testing, and maintain documentation to meet specifications.
  • Monitor and calibrate scales for accurate weights and consistent product flow.
  • Maintain supplies, prevent contamination, and uphold cleanliness and compliance with GMP and sanitation standards.
  • Report quality or production issues, contribute to continuous improvement, and complete required reports and other assigned duties.
