About The Position

The Packaging Line Operator is responsible for ensuring products are packaged safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality specifications. This role supports production goals through the effective operation of packaging equipment, maintenance of packaging supplies, and adherence to food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards. The Packaging Line Operator also plays a key role in supporting team success through collaboration, training, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leaders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer proficiency with the ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to food safety, quality standards, and workplace safety practices.

Nice To Haves

  • One to three months of related manufacturing, packaging, or production experience preferred.
  • Technical certificate from a college or vocational school is an asset.
  • Previous experience operating packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and adjust packaging line and case-sealing equipment to maintain production efficiency and product quality.
  • Lead, direct, and support line personnel while fostering teamwork and a positive work environment.
  • Ensure production standards, quality requirements, and safety expectations are consistently met.
  • Perform equipment changeovers and assist with machinery disassembly and reassembly for sanitation activities.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance and minor equipment repairs as required.
  • Verify product quality prior to packaging and ensure packaging standards are met.
  • Monitor product flow and maintain operational consistency throughout the packaging process.
  • Coordinate packaging material needs and request supplies from forklift operators as necessary.
  • Ensure team members have the correct packaging supplies and materials available to support production.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow established operating procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.
