Requirements

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications.
  • Ability to follow all Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures, and report and follow through on deficiencies.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead, coach, influence, motivate, develop, engage and retain a team of employees.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends in support of plant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Focuses on Saputo’s vision and goals and considers the best interest of Saputo and its employees, customers, and patrons while performing job duties. Demonstrates professionalism and positively represents and promotes Saputo at all times.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with the Current Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety guidelines to ensure that quality food products are manufactured in a sanitary production environment and delivered with superior protection to our customers and consumers.
  • Observe all safety and work rules and regulations. Demonstrate safe and quality conscious work habits.
  • Demonstrate initiative and strong interpersonal, communication, and team skills. Ability to work in a coordinated and cooperative manner in a team setting with team goals.
  • Prompt and regular attendance is essential. Capable of working with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to work directly with Packaging Supervisor for scheduling.
  • Assist in training department personnel. Facilitate communication flow and assist in implementing production improvements in a positive light.
  • Record accurate packaging data, including downtime, rejected materials, case counts, quality checks, and machine logs.
  • Ability to read and understand production and packaging schedules and packaging verification reports.
  • Maintain acceptable production standards. Challenge standards for continuous improvements.
  • Perform packaging machine changeovers in an efficient manner, soliciting, and directing assistance of packaging assemblers.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and machine adjustments. Alert maintenance to any equipment problems.
  • Inspect packages as they come out of machine to maintain quality standards. Reports all questionable product and/or foreign material in product to Production Supervisor and/or Quality Assurance Supervisor.
  • Performs quality evaluations to ensure seal integrity, correct data specifications, and correct packaging requirements.
  • Visually inspect product as it is received, processed, and packaged for any non conformities. Report any issues to supervisor.
  • Identify and record all defective packaging materials. Communicate all damaged material to supervisor.
  • Direct and assist the efficient clean-up of packaging area and equipment.
