Location/Division Specific Information: Middletown, Virginia 22645 / Clinical Diagnostic Division How Will You Make an Impact?: As a Label Room Operator, you will play an important role in ensuring product labels are accurate, properly controlled, and available to support manufacturing operations. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality and cGMP requirements will help ensure our products meet established standards and ultimately support our customers and patients around the world.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting or related field
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately review labels, documentation, product information, lot numbers, expiration dates, and other critical information to prevent labeling errors.
  • Ability to follow written procedures, work instructions, safety requirements, and cGMP practices while maintaining accurate and complete documentation.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use label printing, inventory, and manufacturing systems required to perform daily responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and support production schedules in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Basic math skills and ability to perform label counts, reconciliation, inventory transactions, and other routine calculations accurately.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with Manufacturing, Quality, Warehouse, and other support functions.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies, escalate quality or labeling concerns appropriately, and follow established procedures for resolving issues.
  • Ability to maintain an organized, clean, and controlled work area while handling labeling materials in accordance with established quality and traceability requirements.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after completing required training while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements for extended periods during the workday.
  • Ability to frequently handle labels, paperwork, materials, and equipment requiring manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and/or move materials weighing up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to visually inspect labels, printed information, lot numbers, expiration dates, barcodes, and other detailed information for accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and comply with all applicable safety, quality, cGMP, and gowning requirements.
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including hair nets and gloves, as required by the work area and established procedures.
  • Ability to perform computer-based and label-printing activities and work at a workstation for portions of the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, print, inspect, and issue product labels and related labeling materials according to approved procedures, production schedules, and work orders, ensuring accuracy of product information, lot numbers, expiration dates, and other required details.
  • Perform label reconciliation and maintain accurate documentation and inventory records to ensure all labels are accounted for and traceable.
  • Follow cGMP, quality, safety, and departmental procedures to prevent labeling errors and product mix-ups.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and other support teams to meet production needs, resolve labeling or documentation issues, and maintain an organized, clean, and inspection-ready Label Room.
