If you are looking for more than just a job and you want a career, Consider Hood Packaging Corporation. Hood Packaging is currently recruiting a Packaging Internship for our Arden Hills, MN plant. The Packaging intern will spend a pre-determined timeframe (semester, Summer, etc.) at the Arden Hills manufacturing sites working on project(s) that align with the intern’s field of study. The purpose of the internship is to allow the candidate to gain valuable experience applying the skills and knowledge that they are presently learning in their studies, while also providing value to Arden Hills through the completion of specific projects.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in Packaging Engineering program or related technical field of study beneficial to a manufacturing discipline.
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to set goals & priorities, plan & be responsive to customers
  • Highly self-motivated.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Broad knowledge of flexible packaging markets & technologies.
  • CAD software knowledge & experience.
  • Self-motivated and proactive thinking
  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of package solutions.
  • Support the modification and improvement of existing package designs, methods and or solutions.
  • Perform and coordinate package testing according to established protocols.
  • Creating, maintaining, obtaining and analyzing packaging/labeling data that enables improvements in the packaging implementation and optimization process.
  • Implementing and maintaining activities/processes aimed at improving our processes with the assistance of the Plant/Office people, Supervisors and Plant Managers.
  • Contribute via the creation or updating of SOP’s related to work being performed.
  • Assist Customer Service and Sales with samples, tests, checking retains, customer complaint forms and determining inventory discrepancies.
  • Work on packaging related issues or problems that affect the efficiency of a package filling operation in customer’s plant.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.
