About The Position

Premium Guard, Inc. is seeking a Packaging Engineer for its Albion, IL location. This role reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for providing new part setup, change management, and continuous improvement support to manufacturing operations. The company is a leading supplier of private label solutions in the automotive aftermarket, focusing on designing, manufacturing, and distributing products for automotive, diesel, power-sports, and specialty filter markets.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Packaging or Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent in education and experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a packaging role utilizing paper-based packaging (paperboard, cardboard, etc).
Adobe Illustrator, Artios CAD, CAPE pack.

Nice To Haves

In depth knowledge of packaging materials, processes, and equipment.
Experience with approving colors on printed materials.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support to the operations, sourcing, marketing, and product teams throughout the development and commercialization of new products.
Analyze product drawings and specifications to determine physical characteristics of products, special handling, environment and safety requirements and type of materials required for packaging.
Troubleshoot packaging problems involving design, material, and processes, providing timely and cost-effective solutions.
Implement corrective actions where necessary.
Build packaging BOM’s, pallet configurations, and label guides for new part numbers.
Collaborate with purchasing and operations to evaluate and validate new sources of packaging and labeling materials.
Ensures appropriate validation plans are completed.
Inputs and maintains customer portal data as it relates to packaging development and approval as required.
Creates dielines for new packaging.
Maintains knowledge of customer packaging requirements to ensure compliance.
