We are looking for Packaging Engineer to join our Central Engineering team in Milpitas!

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Packaging Engineering or relevant field with hands-on mechanical skills
  • Knowledge of Electronic / Clean Room packaging
  • Demonstrated or detailed knowledge of packaging materials including paperboard, containerboard, plastic films, foam cushions, wood and lumber products, as well as their fabrication, conversion methodologies and application, cushion package design and the various types and characteristics of transportation/conveyance equipment, as well as typical application of equipment for product and packaging material handling and distribution.
  • Proficient in CAD CREO, SolidWorks, ArtiosCAD, AutoCAD
  • Ability to quickly convert ideas to testable prototypes with Kongsberg sample table
  • Ability to generate concepts, design, and develop structural packaging solutions
  • Ability to lead project portfolio of multiple components and delivery dates
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage the team and internal customers as well as thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 2 years

Responsibilities

  • Candidate will work in a small core team and share the responsibilities for day- to-day operations of the global packaging group.
  • Build shipping container solutions from 3D models, engineering drawings, specifications and/or product samples to resolve physical characteristics of item and identify special handling and safety requirements.
  • Receive broad goals and objectives from Program Managers based on business and project needs. You must perform tasks with minimal direction and supervision and employ basic project management practices to specific time-related deliverables.
  • Advise internal customers or suppliers on efficient packaging procedures, packaging materials, and utilization of protective packaging systems.
