About The Position

This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining labeling solutions for industrial and HVAC products. The specialist will own the entire lifecycle of label artwork, from development and version control to change management, ensuring alignment with product and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include defining label content, ensuring compliance with various standards, and collaborating with multiple internal teams and external suppliers. The position also involves supporting new product introduction, driving cost optimization for labeling, and resolving any manufacturing or field issues related to labels.

Requirements

  • BE / BTech – Mechanical Engineering / Packaging Engineering
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in industrial product labeling and packaging
  • Strong hands-on experience with label design software such as Bartender and CodeSoft
  • Strong expertise in industrial labeling design and implementation
  • Hands-on experience with Bartender
  • Hands-on experience with CodeSoft
  • Hands-on experience with Barcode standards (1D / 2D – Code 128, QR, DataMatrix, etc.)
  • Knowledge of label materials, adhesives, printing technologies (thermal transfer, direct thermal, laser, inkjet)
  • Understanding of environmental performance (temperature, humidity, chemical resistance, abrasion)
  • Working knowledge of packaging and labeling standards (ASTM, ISTA, ISO)
  • Strong background in mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • Proficiency in SAP
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools
  • Proficiency in basic data analysis for proposals and cost comparisons
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interaction with internal teams and suppliers

Nice To Haves

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Packaging (preferred)
  • Experience in HVAC or industrial products is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain labeling solutions for industrial / HVAC products, including primary, secondary, and logistics labels
  • Own label artwork development, version control, and change management in line with product and regulatory requirements
  • Manage label content definition including part numbers, barcodes, QR codes, regulatory symbols, multilingual text, and product information
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (ASTM, ISO, customer standards, and regional compliance requirements)
  • Collaborate closely with product design, quality, manufacturing, procurement, and regulatory teams
  • Support NPI / NPD programs by defining labeling requirements during early design stages
  • Drive cost optimization and VAVE initiatives related to labels and marking solutions
  • Support supplier development, RFQs, sourcing, prototyping, validation, and PPAP (where applicable)
  • Resolve manufacturing and field issues related to labeling durability, adhesion, readability, and traceability
  • Document labeling specifications, validation reports, and engineering change documentation
