This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and technical inventory management of packaging hardware within the supply chain. You will create packaging samples, test first articles, and ensure the safe transportation of critical space hardware. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Packaging Engineering, or equivalent education/experience
• 1+ years of directly related experience (including internships, co-ops) in packaging or in an engineering role
• Ability to analyze engineering drawings and specifications to establish packaging requirements
• Understanding of packaging equipment, materials, and current technologies
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
• Experience with statistical analysis methods and related tools
• Experience organizing and managing materials and process-related data in company databases
• Exceptional interpersonal communication, organizational, project management, and technical packaging skills
• Ability to earn trust and maintain positive relationships

Nice To Haves

• Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, industrial, or military environments
• Experience with all modes of transportation
• Experience with ISTA, ASTM and Mil-Spec test standards
• 49CFR Hazmat Certification for all modes of transportation

Responsibilities

• Design, qualify, and maintain packaging solutions for parts protection
• Create packaging samples and test first articles to validate designs
• Optimize production processes using expendable and reusable packaging solutions
• Review engineering drawings and specifications to understand physical characteristics, special handling requirements, and material types needed
• Ensure proper labeling, storage, delivery, and handling of components
• Resolve packaging quality issues; provide container maintenance and technical support
• Organize critical packaging data to enable supply chain processes by: Tracking and tracing packaging inventory Monitoring packaging usage, cycling, re-orders, and alternatives Maintaining accurate inventory counts and locations
• Coordinate movement of shipping containers between sites
• Initiate, log, monitor, and manage purchase orders and invoices for containers
• Communicate potential schedule impacts thoroughly
• Manage blanket POs for general shipping support
• Create non-controlled drawings to support general shipping requirements
