About The Position

Anchor Bay South Packaging (Cibolo, TX) is looking to recruit a qualified Packaging Engineer Assistant. Objectives of this role, You will be required to work closely with the lead Packaging Engineer and different teams across the company to create packaging prototypes that are efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective. Nice To Haves

Some technical knowledge of product designing, packaging or related engineering fields.
3+ years of experience in the corrugated packaging industry.
Knowledge of basic packaging box styles and industry materials such as corrugated paper, foam, wood, and plastic sheets.
Ability to read and understand technical CAD drawings and Bill of Materials.
Familiarity with production equipment and manufacturing processes.
Ability to learn computer-aided design (Artios-CAD) software with project management skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Ability to effectively communicate with management and personnel within the organization

Responsibilities

Create packaging prototypes according to engineered CAD drawings and Bill of Materials.
Identify, evaluate, and select the required packaging materials specified on CAD drawings.
Operate technical CAD cutting table(s).
Organize materials used to create packaging prototypes.
Operate handheld air staple guns, mini band saw and other necessary tools to create packaging prototypes.
Maintain a clean and organized design lab.
Ensure consistency and quality of packaging prototypes.
