About The Position

Dreamwear is a leading wholesale intimate apparel and sleepwear company working with iconic brands such as Juicy Couture, Laura Ashley, Danskin and Nautica. Our Graphics team is focused primarily on consumer product packaging and retail presentation and communication. This includes hangers, hangtags, belly bands, call-out tags, inserts, labels, PDQs and other product-specific packaging. The team manages the full packaging process from initial design and artwork development through dielines, photography, retouching, physical samples, production-ready files, and final approvals. We are seeking a mid-level (4-5yrs experience) Packaging Designer to join the team. This is a hands-on packaging design and print production role. The main focus for this role will be managing packaging across our Shapewear portfolio, supporting multiple brands (Skinnygirl, Juicy Couture, Nautica, Danskin, Nicole Miller and Marilyn Monroe). The role will also have broader ownership of Nautica packaging, supporting the brand across additional Dreamwear product categories and helping ensure a consistent visual identity and execution across programs.

Requirements

  • 4–5 years of professional packaging design experience, ideally within consumer products, apparel, fashion, beauty, accessories, or another retail product category.
  • Portfolio must demonstrate physical packaging work and should include examples of packaging systems, hangtags, labels, cartons, belly bands, retail packaging, or comparable consumer product applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Demonstrated experience working with dielines, mechanical artwork, print production and production-ready files.
  • Understanding of print processes, color, materials, proofs, and the technical requirements involved in taking packaging from design through production.
  • Strong typography, layout, information hierarchy, and visual communication skills.
  • Ability to independently own packaging projects while collaborating effectively with cross-functional partners and incorporating feedback.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills; comfortable working directly with internal partners and overseas factories/vendors.
  • Working knowledge of current packaging, retail, fashion, and consumer trends, with the ability to interpret them appropriately across distinct brands.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute consumer product packaging and retail presentation materials, including hangtags, belly bands, call-out tags, inserts, labels, cartons, mockups and other physical packaging components.
  • Own packaging development for Dreamwear’s Shapewear portfolio, creating brand-specific solutions for Skinnygirl, Juicy Couture, Nautica, Danskin, Nicole Miller and Marilyn Monroe.
  • Translate shapewear product attributes (including fit, function, fabrication, compression, support and other technical or consumer benefits) into clear, compelling packaging communication.
  • Serve as a key packaging partner for Nautica, supporting packaging needs across multiple product categories and maintaining consistency with brand standards.
  • Manage assigned packaging projects from initial concept through final production, balancing creative execution with technical accuracy, timelines, brand standards, and retailer requirements.
  • Build and adapt artwork to packaging dielines and print specifications, applying strong layout, typography, color, and information hierarchy while ensuring copy, dimensions, callouts, legal/required information and production details are accurate.
  • Prepare production-ready mechanical files and ensure artwork is properly constructed for print and manufacturing.
  • Review proofs, strike-offs, physical packaging samples, and other production submissions, identifying and resolving execution issues prior to approval.
  • Partner closely with Product Development, Design, Sales, licensors, and other cross-functional teams to understand product attributes and packaging requirements.
  • Work within individual brand and licensor guidelines while developing thoughtful, differentiated packaging appropriate for each brand and consumer.
  • Communicate directly with overseas factories and vendors regarding artwork, dielines, samples and production execution to ensure approved packaging is accurately produced.
  • Conduct research, including in-store presentations, to proactively identify relevant packaging trends and opportunities.
