About The Position

Otter Products is hiring for a Packaging Designer to join our team in Fort Collins, CO. This role can work a hybrid schedule. The Packaging Designer develops creative concepts and innovative ideas for customer engaging product packaging. This role ensures the development of packaging meeting or exceeding Otter Products' standards. The Packaging Designer works with external vendors to ensure consistency of the brand on packaging.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Graphic Design, Art, Visual Communication degree preferred. Experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
  • Minimum of three years of design related experience required.
  • Print or packaging design experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Work with designers, engineering and marketing to create packaging designs for a variety of product line.
  • Work with Packaging Project Managers to review project schedules and status.
  • Create and revise packaging materials according to business needs.
  • Contribute to brainstorm, conception, team collaboration and idea generation.
  • Collaborate with other departments within Otter Products to design packaging materials that meet the needs of the business.
  • Interpret and develop designs based on packaging briefs.
  • Create eye-catching designs and images to display the Otter Products’ brands.
  • Escalate risk through communication, meetings and status reports with internal packaging team.
  • Recognize, research and discuss design trends, style, and packaging innovations, and translate them into effective design work.
  • Collaborate with packaging engineers, packaging project manager, creative manager, and agency partners to develop and maintain print quality standard documentation and process.
  • Ensure packaging print files are built to print and artwork standards, including but not limited to, reviewing color builds, dieline placement, artwork placement, treatments and translation accuracy.
  • Work with creative agency to ensure design consistency and on-deadline delivery of all packaging.
  • Serve as primary quality assurance checkpoint for all packaging creative.
  • Support and maintain a positive safety culture by following all safety policies and procedures and actively contributing to a safe working environment.
