About The Position

We are looking for a Packaging & Crating Technician I to join our manufacturing team at Bluefors in Syracuse, NY. In this role, you will support the packaging, crating, shipping, and inventory operations for Cryomech products, spare parts, materials, supplies, equipment, and stock. You will play an important role in ensuring products are packaged, documented, handled, and shipped safely and accurately to our customers. Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
One to three months of related experience and/or training preferred OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, work instructions, and training documents
Ability to safely use power tools and related hand tools
Ability to use material handling equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and hand trucks
Basic computer skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to learn and develop strong product knowledge
Dependability and ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to safety and following established procedures
Willingness to continue learning and developing technical skills
Ability to align with Bluefors Leadership Principles and workplace competencies
Excellent command of English, both written and spoken

Nice To Haves

Technical or mechanical aptitude preferred
Experience in packaging, crating, shipping, receiving, inventory, logistics, or material handling
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Experience packaging or crating industrial equipment or precision products
Experience operating forklifts, cranes, hand trucks, or other material handling equipment
Familiarity with shipping documentation and common carrier requirements
Experience using drills, hammers, strapping tools, and other hand tools
Strong organizational and time management skills

Responsibilities

Package Cryomech products and spare parts for shipment according to established work instructions
Box products according to Bluefors standards
Assemble wooden crates using drills, hammers, strapping tools, and other hand tools
Assist with loading products and interface with common carriers to ensure products are safely loaded
Assist other shipping team members with tasks necessary to meet shipping requirements
Communicate with internal departments to ensure specific order and shipping requirements are met
Complete and deliver all required shipping documentation to the Shipping Supervisor
Track shipping-related supplies and place orders as needed
Organize and store packaging and shipping supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels
Interface with the test room as required
Maintain an organized and efficient packaging and crating area
Follow all Bluefors shipping, quality, and safety procedures
Perform additional duties as assigned
