About The Position

The Packaging Associate will be responsible for packaging the Company's products. This role may also involve receiving raw goods and manufacturing products. The position requires adherence to USDA standards for health and safety, the ability to work in a fast-paced and noisy environment, and proficiency in operating slicing and packaging equipment. The associate will also be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and handling damaged or spoiled products according to company policy.

Requirements

• Ability to understand and meet USDA standards for health and safety.
• Ability to remain alert and focused in an environment that is noisy and fast-paced.
• Ability to disassemble, clean and reassemble all equipment as part of the sanitation process.
• Ability to work effectively with kitchen staff.
• Detail-oriented and thorough.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Excellent active listening skills.
• Basic knife skills.
• Proficient in taking directions.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic food knowledge.

Nice To Haves

• Previous kitchen experience preferred but not required.
• State motor vehicle operators permit for operation of forklift highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Packaging ready-to-eat products, smoked and cured products.
• Boxing and packing all meats and building pallets.
• Documenting and keeping accurate records of working inventory and providing them to Manager.
• Maintaining a variety of products while conforming to the production standard.
• Operating all slicing and packaging equipment including cryovac machines.
• Handling damaged and spoiled products according to Company policy.
• Complying with safety policies and procedures; notifying manager of any potential hazard immediately.
• Performing other miscellaneous tasks assigned by managers necessary to provide products and services to customers during peak periods of business.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
