About The Position

The Packaging Associate is responsible for various tasks related to the assembly, filling, sealing, and palletizing of product boxes. This role also involves preparing raw materials, visually inspecting products for defects, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The associate must adhere to food safety standards and report any safety concerns or non-conforming products to management. Cleaning and sanitizing of equipment, packaging areas, bathrooms, and breakrooms are also key responsibilities. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing tasks, and maintain regular attendance.

Requirements

  • Able to lift (up to) 50 pounds on a consistent basis
  • Able to work on feet for 8 or more hours
  • Able to consistently reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Able to change tasks quickly and work under pressure
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Self-motivated, willing to learn, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday, as well as occasional Saturdays
  • Maintain timely and regular attendance

Responsibilities

  • Assemble boxes for product storage & display
  • Fill, seal, tin tie, and place packaged products in boxes
  • Palletize product boxes in a neat, organized, and visually appealing manner
  • Prepare raw materials for packaging including, but not limited to: bags, labels, tin ties, boxes
  • Visually inspect product (both finished and unfinished) for defects and proper presentation
  • Clean & sanitize net weighers at the beginning and end of shifts requiring their use
  • Clean & sanitize prep/packaging areas at the end of the shift
  • Clean & sanitize various packaging equipment in accordance with frequency guidelines given by supervisors and/or documentation
  • Cleaning bathrooms and breakroom as scheduled/assigned by the supervisor
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in all areas of the warehouse
  • Complying with all certifications, regulatory requirements, and food safety standards
  • Report to management any potential food safety issues and non-conforming products
  • Report to management/supervisor of any unsafe conditions or acts that affect health and physical safety.
  • Other duties as assigned
