About The Position

Surly Brewing Company is expanding its packaging team and has commissioned new packaging equipment for beer and THC production. We are seeking individuals to help us meet our goals, reinforce quality standards, and expand our capabilities. We do not operate a weekend shift and prefer to adjust staffing levels rather than require overtime. This position is located in our Minneapolis brewery.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Learn to operate all downline and upline equipment.
Learn to assist in the running of fillers.
Complete forklift training.
Utilize powered equipment safely and responsibly.
Demonstrate troubleshooting skill on all machines operated while remaining professional.
Demonstrate willingness to improve skills and abilities pertaining to work.
Reliably complete all assigned production and sanitation tasks.
Follow SOPS.
Attention to detail regarding quality of finished products and sanitation.
Conduct oneself professionally while in the service of the company.
Able to change practices as procedures are updated and improved.
Flexibility in schedule to work when the production schedule requires labor.

Responsibilities

Palletize finished cases of beer cans and bottles using manual labor as needed.
Assist in the operation of the fillers, including replenishing consumable goods.
Load empty kegs into the automated washer.
Palletize full kegs at ground level.
Operate downline and upline equipment, including cartoners, tray packers, and depalletizers.
Perform cleaning and sanitation functions as prescribed by SOP under the direction of your lead.
Following forklift certification, use powered lifts to move finished goods and raw materials.
Assist trained operators in size changes to the filler and format changes to downline.
Monitor all printed coding for errors and report defects to operators and/or lead.
Observe finished goods for obvious defects and report them to the operator and/or lead.
Monitor the line for jam-ups and breakdowns, and communicate problems that cannot be fixed.
Work cooperatively with operators and other packaging associates to accomplish shift goals.
Learn troubleshooting of common malfunctions on assigned packaging equipment.
Work with leads, supervisors, and maintenance to build skill sets.
Pursue teachable moments with skilled team members.
