Metals USA is seeking a Packager for our Liberty, MO location. Metals USA is a leading metals processor/distributor in North America, providing a wide range of carbon steel products and services. The Packer under general supervision performs duties such as receiving, placing/returning items into stock inventory locations. Requirements

  • High School or GED Equivalent
  • Basic Mathematics skills
  • Ability to read and write English Language
  • Ability to understand and use Safety Rules and Procedures as well as OSHA standards and regulations
  • Must exercise a reasonable degree of judgment and possess the ability to recognize appropriate company policies that apply in each situation and follow them
  • Must be able to read measuring tape and caliper
  • Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.
  • Attention to detail
  • Must have Forklift and overhead crane experience

Nice To Haves

  • Warehouse experience preferred
  • Experience working with Heavy Equipment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Package bundles by placing metal strapping around the width and length of the material
  • Properly place paper corner protectors neatly to part specifications, to protect the customers' product
  • Use packaging equipment to tighten the metal strapping around bundles
  • Check parts to ensure correct size was produced
  • Responsible for the use of material handling equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and side loaders.
  • Accurately move and stock products, materials, and various supplies into and out of designated storage areas.
  • Interpret and anticipate material requirement needs at work centers
  • Ensure that all inventory is maintained in a neat and organized condition and that the warehouse area remains clean and orderly
  • Can identify defects and package the designated items
  • Any other duties assigned by Management.
