About The Position

Klondike Cheese Co. is searching for a Packager to join our Team! This role involves preparing supplies and labels, completing required paperwork, taking cheese from totes and placing onto conveyors, operating packaging equipment, verifying product codes and materials, checking container seals, attaching labels, and palletizing products. The position also includes cleaning and sanitizing equipment and packaging areas. This is a 2nd shift position, Monday – Friday, with every other Saturday required. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Requirements

Willingness to work overtime as needed
Good attendance record
Must be a team player
Employees are required to stand the duration of the shift
Frequent and repetitive bending, stooping, turning, reaching, grasping
Lifting up to 50 pounds
Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Preparing supplies and labels
Completing required paperwork accurately
Taking cheese from totes and placing onto conveyors
Operating packaging equipment to fill bags or containers with crumbled product
Verifying product codes and materials for accuracy
Checking containers for proper seals
Attaching labels to products
Putting products onto pallets
Stacking pallets
Cleaning and sanitizing equipment, conveyors and packaging areas
Loading cheese products into package processing equipment
Cleaning containers, materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools
Verifying and recording product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records
Examining and inspecting containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met
Sorting, weighing, and inspecting products, verifying and adjusting product weight or measurement to meet specifications
Verifying accuracy and correctness of product identification labels and attaching to finished packaged items
Removing finished packaged items from machine and separating rejected items
Inspecting and removing defective products and packaging material
Palletizing packaged product
Moving pallets of cheese and totes in and out of production areas
Observing machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards
Tending or operating machine that packages product
Stopping or resetting machines when malfunctions occur, clearing machine jams, and reporting malfunctions to a supervisor
Performing other related additional duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager
