The Packager is responsible for operating and maintaining all production equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This role will also perform preventive maintenance and repair of equipment in the blending, packaging and shipping areas as needed. This is a union position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience with production, warehousing, maintenance and/or process experience required
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment
  • Ability to operate packaging and process equipment safely
  • Ability to obtain TWIC
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to use computers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good dependability and attendance
  • Willingness to work Monday through Friday day shift, with occasional overtime/weekends/off-shifts as needed

Responsibilities

  • Perform work associated with receiving, blending, packaging, reworking and shipping lubricants
  • Safely operate forklift
  • Setting up and operating machinery that shall include, but is not limited to, inspection, filling, marking, weighing, labeling, banding, tying, gluing, packing and wrapping containers
  • Observe operations and inspect/record packaged items for quality assurance
  • Perform troubleshooting, mechanical maintenance and preventive maintenance as needed. Report any issues to management team. Use hand tools, power tools and specialized tools.
  • Follow documented procedures. Perform basic computer activities. Participate in plant safety rules, policies and programs.
