About The Position

Klondike Cheese Co. is searching for a Packager to join our Team! This role involves preparing supplies and labels, completing paperwork, taking cheese from totes and placing onto conveyors, operating packaging equipment, verifying product codes and materials, checking container seals, attaching labels, and palletizing products. The position also includes cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas. Employees are required to stand for the duration of the shift, with frequent and repetitive bending, stooping, turning, reaching, grasping, and lifting up to 50 pounds. This is a 1st shift position, typically working 8-9 hour shifts, Tuesday through Saturday, starting at 5:00 am.

Requirements

Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
A good attendance record is required.
Candidate must be a team player.
Employees are required to stand the duration of the shift, with frequent and repetitive bending, stooping, turning, reaching, grasping and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Cheese/food industry experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Prepare supplies and labels.
Complete required paperwork accurately.
Take cheese from totes and place onto conveyors.
Operate packaging equipment to fill bags or containers with crumbled product.
Verify product codes and materials for accuracy.
Check containers for proper seals.
Attach labels to products.
Put products onto pallets.
Stack pallets.
Clean and sanitize equipment, conveyors, and packaging areas.
Load cheese products into package processing equipment.
Clean containers, materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools.
Verify and record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.
Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met.
Sort, weigh, and inspect products, verifying and adjusting product weight or measurement to meet specifications.
Verify accuracy and correctness of product identification labels and attach to finished packaged items.
Remove finished packaged items from machine and separate rejected items.
Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material.
Palletize packaged product.
Move pallets of cheese and totes in and out of production areas.
Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.
Tend or operate machine that packages product.
Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
Perform other related additional duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
