We are looking for Packagers to join our growing team on 2nd Shift! The future is bright at E.A. Sween Company and we invite you to come grow with us! Requirements

  • Previous assembly line experience in a high-speed packaging environment
  • Must be able to write, count and communicate in English.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be available for work flexible schedule to include occasional weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Packing sandwiches in bun trays and corrugated boxes at designated line speeds.
  • Playing an active role in the Company's Lean initiative.
  • Promoting a friendly and positive work environment.
  • Maintaining a good attendance record.
  • Being flexible and adaptable as it relates to the basic work schedule.
  • Performing all activities in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices and company policies.
  • Executing assigned food safety, quality, and continuous improvement activities to support SQF requirements, regulatory requirements, and customers’ requirements.
  • Following all GMP's, standard work, and safety practices.
  • Reporting any incidents where such procedures are not being followed to Pack-off Lead or Support Supervisor.
  • Assisting in maintaining a clean, safe, organized work area.
  • Wearing all required safety gear such as a hard-hat and gloves.
  • Successfully completing the mandatory E.A. Sween quarterly safety training sessions for the purpose of complying with both OSHA regulations and E.A. Sween policy.
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment whenever and wherever necessary.
  • Ensuring that pallets, racks, and dollies are stored and transported with safety in mind to help facilitate a Zero Safety Incidents Policy.
  • Rotating all positions on a 30-minute basis.
  • Following all standard work.
  • Placing labels on boxes in the correct position.
  • Opening boxes and folding flaps to prepare for boxers to place the product in the box.
  • Monitoring the print on the sandwiches for correct price and day code according to standard work for each sandwich.
  • Verifying face and ingredient labels are correct for the sandwich being produced.
  • Placing product in the box/bun tray in the correct designated format.
  • Placing completed bun trays into metal racks or finished case on pallets according to the standard work for each product.
  • Monitoring the printing on each case/tray to ensure date and codes are correct and legible.
  • Completing all paperwork and turning it in after each period to Pack-off Lead.
