About The Position

The Packager packages finished food products at the end of the manufacturing process. The role checks packaging materials and products against company specifications, seals filled packages and boxes, removes defective items from the production line, and assembles product containers. The Packager maintains a clean, organized work area and follows company safety guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices. Regular attendance and punctuality are required because the role works with people, items, and equipment at the facility. The position is based in a refrigerated food manufacturing plant. The environment is wet and cold, with temperatures ranging from 25°F to 110°F. Production demands may require overtime and/or evening or weekend scheduling.

Requirements

Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
Repetitive hand, wrist, and finger activities are required.
Repetitive lifting, kneeling, and bending with items in excess of 20 lbs. are required.
Walking and standing for long periods are required.

Nice To Haves

Production or assembly experience is preferred.
English/Spanish bilingual ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

Check that packaging boxes and containers are correct.
Ensure product dates and weights are within established guidelines.
Seal filled product packages and boxes.
Examine containers, materials, and products to ensure packaging meets company specifications.
Remove defective products or packages from the production line.
Assemble product containers on an assembly line.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow company safety guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
