Requirements

  • Previous knowledge in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of multiple jobs preferred

  • Be able to write clearly and legibly.
  • Be able to read and understand written instructions from the department supervisor or shift group leader.
  • Be capable of strict adherence to company policies and yet able to use common sense in making many daily decisions required in this position.
  • Individual should be capable of adjusting their work schedule to the requirements of the department.
  • Individual should realize that overtime is sometimes required in order to complete a particular batch or batching sequence.
  • Must be able to use computer systems and make transactions in SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Package hydrolysate batches at a minimum of time, while maintaining the quality of finished product and packaging appearance.
  • Oversee issuing finished product labels, and sample labels.
  • Responsible for taking in process samples along with any additional samples requested from sample room or quality.
  • Know and use proper maintenance and cleaning procedures for packaging equipment.
  • Make sure packager is set up properly for the batch to be run through it, examine screens, ensure correct tare weight, package material.
  • Keep their area in a proper state of cleanliness and in an orderly fashion.
  • Operate forklift truck in a safe manner and use proper safety measures.
  • Run packaging system and communicate with dryer operator to adjust speeds if necessary.
  • Must be able to lift 55 lb. bags or boxes once per minute.
  • Complete documentation in Master Batch Record step, SAP, Logbooks and any other documentation that is needed clearly and accurately.
  • Complete all transactions needed in SAP to ensure accurate inventory is maintained with packaging materials being used.
  • Demonstrates leadership in the area of safety. This requires observing and enforcing safety rules and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors, and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behavior, which may lead to accidents.
  • May be required to handle hazardous waste (internal training provided).
