About The Position

As the Package Manager, Surface Construction, you will manage construction activities and skilled, technical, and professional staff engaged in construction of process facilities, surface infrastructure, roads, dams, water treatment plants, power infrastructure, maintenance and administrative buildings, and other onsite and offsite infrastructure. The role includes active management of multiple contractors and subcontractors, covering planning, scheduling, reporting, health, safety, security, environmental compliance, quality, community relations, and delivery of targets within budget and on time.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
• Experience developing and managing project budgets, schedules, risk assessments, and performance reporting.
• Experience ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, quality, regulatory, and change management requirements.
• Experience coordinating materials, equipment, site services, and stakeholder support to meet project objectives.
• Strong leadership, team management, and contractor oversight skills, including training, performance management, and issue resolution.
• Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, prioritize competing demands, and implement corrective actions to maintain project delivery.
• Familiarity with construction technologies, Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), project controls, and industry codes, standards, and best practices.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum 10 years of large-scale mining construction site management experience across all trades, including managing construction contractors and coordinating large-scale construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction contractors and project execution activities to ensure safe, efficient, and timely delivery of construction services.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, community relations, quality, regulatory, and change management requirements.
• Coordinate contractor risk assessments, construction schedules, reporting, budgets, and recovery plans with internal stakeholders and project teams.
• Support sourcing strategies, work package development, and planning and coordination of labor, materials, equipment, and site services.
• Oversee Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) initiatives, monitor performance metrics, and use project data to optimize construction activities.
• Lead, train, and evaluate team members and contractors, address performance issues, and drive continuous improvement.
