About The Position

The Package Assembly Supervisor is a day shift frontline leader responsible for overseeing all operations within the Package Assembly area at the facility. This role ensures that safety, quality, and production goals are met through effective team leadership, process management, and cross-functional collaboration. The supervisor leads and develops a team of Package Assembly Operators, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and maintains alignment with corporate and plant standards. This position will have responsibility for managing both day and night shifts, ensuring seamless operations across all shifts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing or packaging operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Proven knowledge of manufacturing or assembly, processes, and quality systems.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and develop employees.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Proficient in using MS Office and manufacturing systems such as SAP, WorkDay, or equivalent.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of quality systems (ISO:9001) and requirements – able to ensure consistency of operations within the established quality system guidelines.

  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement training is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a safety-first culture aligned with Absolute Zero safety principles, ensuring zero incidents within the area.
  • Achieve or exceed production, quality, and safety goals through proactive management and operational excellence.
  • Manage shift operations, resources, and workflows to optimize efficiency and meet customer demands.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement projects and lead efforts to streamline processes and reduce waste.
  • Provide hands-on leadership and supervision of the Package Assembly team, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Drive compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards (ESSH, ISO:9001) in the work area.
  • Monitor daily production activities, analyze performance metrics, and adjust plans to meet or exceed targets.
  • Conduct regular shift meetings and communicate goals, expectations, and operational updates clearly to the team.
  • Collaborate closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and other support functions to resolve operational issues promptly.
  • Oversee accurate completion of production documentation, including shift reports, quality checks, and safety audits.
  • Manage labor resources effectively, including scheduling, overtime, vacation requests, and payroll approval processes for both day and night shifts.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective action processes for quality or production problems.
  • Promote and sustain housekeeping and 5S standards within the Package Assembly area.
  • Identify training needs and ensure ongoing skill development for team members.
  • Support corporate initiatives such as A2E, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma projects within the area.
