About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is seeking a Part-Time Package Handler to join their team in Sioux Falls, SD. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of packages by loading, unloading, and sorting freight. The company, founded in 1978, focuses on standard, next-day ground delivery and has expanded throughout the Midwest, employing over 1,800 people.

Requirements

At least 16 years of age.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Efficient time management skills.
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently.
Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Ability to work with all types of freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Load, unload, and sort freight accurately and in a timely manner.
Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles.
Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes.
Sort each package by zip code, city, or state.
Stack freight into trailers and routes in a manner to prevent damage and utilize space efficiently.
Wash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as needed.
Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
