About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is seeking a Part-Time Package Handler to join their team. This role involves loading, unloading, and sorting freight accurately and efficiently to ensure timely deliveries. The company, founded in 1978, is family-owned and operated, specializing in standard, next-day ground delivery with a presence throughout the Midwest.

Requirements

At least 16 years of age
Excellent verbal communication skills
Efficient time management skills
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently
Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionally
Ability to work with all types of freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

Load, unload, and sort freight accurately and in a timely manner.
Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes.
Sort each package by zip code, city, or state.
Stack freight into trailers and routes in a manner to prevent damage and utilize space efficiently.
Wash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as needed.
Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
