About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is seeking a Full-Time Package Handler to join their team. This role is responsible for accurately and efficiently loading, unloading, and sorting freight to ensure timely deliveries. The company was founded in 1978 and has grown to employ over 1,800 people across the Midwest, with a focus on standard, next-day ground delivery.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionally
Ability to spend a minimum of 8 hours on your feet
Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
Excellent verbal communication skills
Efficient time management skills
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently
Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Responsibilities

Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles
Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes
Sort each package by zip code, city, or state
Stack freight into trailers and routes in a manner to prevent damage and utilize space efficiently
Wash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as needed
Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment
Perform other duties as assigned
