About The Position

Turner Industries is a fully diversified industrial contractor that provides responsive, innovative solutions to increase plant production, reduce costs, and prevent shutdowns in industries such as petrochemical, refining, energy, and pulp and paper. The company is seeking a Supervisor to join their team in the Omaha, NE area. This non-exempt role is responsible for exercising independent judgment and supervising/directing a group of workers engaged chiefly in one occupation. On certain projects, a Supervisor may perform similar duties, supervising workers engaged in several occupations. This position reports to the Superintendent or Site Manager and involves developing procedures for performing a variety of duties and performing complex duties within established guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent
  • Minimum one (1) year experience as a Foreman in specified skill or equivalent combinations of training and related experience
  • Sets a high standard to be followed for Turner and Client Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Projects clear expectations to all employees under his/her supervision
  • Proficient in the craft he/she is supervising
  • Obtains excellent leadership and mentoring skills
  • Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and directing a group of workers engaged chiefly in one occupation.
  • Performing similar duties supervising workers engaged in several occupations on certain projects.
  • Developing procedures for performance of a variety of duties.
  • Performing complex duties within established guidelines.
  • Interpreting blueprints, sketches, written and/or verbal orders.
  • Estimating worker-hours and materials required to complete the job.
  • Assigning duties, lining up and following up all work and being responsible for production of the unit.
  • Inspecting work to ensure adherence to company standards.
  • Training and assisting workers in the performance of their duties.
  • Supervising and coordinating activities of assigned construction workers.
  • Interpreting company policies to workers and enforcing safety regulations.
  • Establishing and adjusting work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel.
  • Analyzing and resolving work-related problems.
  • Implementing project safety programs.
  • Maintaining time, production, and other records.
  • Studying schedules and estimating worker-hour requirements for completion of job.
  • Making cost estimates for contracts.
  • Performing additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
