About The Position

AASC is seeking dependable and participant-focused PACE Transportation Drivers to join our exceptional team as we provide safe, reliable transportation services to PACE participants in the Cedar Bluff area.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Training required, including but not limited to passenger assistance, Personal Care Assistant (PCA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), First Aid, CPR, wheelchair lift operations.
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical, drug and alcohol test, criminal background check and agency driving test.
  • One (1) year experience with the elderly.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience preferred.
  • CDL license preferred with passenger endorsement.
  • Use of radio communication equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Transport ambulatory and non-ambulatory participants (in wheelchairs or on stretchers) to various destinations by agency vehicle.
  • Provide needed participant assistance on and off vehicles.
  • Be alert to participant needs and operate the vehicle in a safe manner.
  • Deal professionally with health care personnel and participants with chronic illnesses who may be disabled physically and/or cognitively.
  • Provide necessary services as authorized by the PACE Interdisciplinary Team (IDT).
  • Maintain accurate recordkeeping.
  • Engage in significant public contact.
  • Exercise independent decision-making and action.
