The PAC Associate demonstrates a courteous, friendly, and professional demeanor while greeting and checking in patients, visitors, and vendors. This role involves managing patient check-ins, collecting payments, handling a daily collection log for co-pays and balances, and reconciling cash drawers. The associate is responsible for answering incoming calls promptly and professionally, scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling patient appointments across multiple locations, and sending new evaluation appointment information to the pre-certification department. Additionally, they monitor visit limits and expiration dates, create claims for over-the-counter items and no-show fees, and accurately transfer and direct incoming calls. The role also includes assisting adjusters or outside entities with inquiries, entering patient demographics and insurance information into the EMR system, and potentially verifying eligibility and authorizations. Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the front desk and waiting areas, screening visitors, adhering to delivery procedures, preparing school and work excuses, accepting and distributing medical records, checking out patients, scheduling follow-up appointments, and maintaining patient confidentiality are key aspects of this position. Flexibility with hours is required, and the associate must follow proper security procedures at the close of each day. The role also involves receiving and distributing faxes and mail daily.
