UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is hiring a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to help support their team in York, PA! Hours: Monday-Friday, daylight hours. No evenings, weekends, or holidays required. Location: UPMC York Memorial Hospital - 1703 Innovation Drive, York, PA 17404. This position will provide primarily inpatient hematology/oncology consultation in the UPMC York Memorial Hospital. APPs are typically responsible for 1 area hospital per day, though with teamwork expectations of possible coverage at a second hospital site as needed for service line coverage. CRNPs are expected to obtain their advanced oncology certified nurse practitioner certification (AOCP) within 3 years of hire. UPMC Central PA provides a unique opportunity to work with the world-renowned Hillman Cancer Center, while maintaining point of care as close to home as possible. We have 3 hospitals within the Harrisburg area- West Shore Hospital, Harrisburg Hospital, and Community Osteopathic Hospital and 2 outpatient oncology offices within the Harrisburg area. All of our cancer center APPs report directly to a supervising APP. Our Central PA hem/onc team continues tremendous growth over the last few years and we lean on the experiences of each other and our physicians as we strive to provide the best cancer care in the area. The Staff or Senior Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner and a member of the care delivery team. The APP is responsible to set the standards for the level and quality of care. The APP has responsibility, authority, and accountability for the provision of care through supervision by and collaboration with a physician. The APP manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members. The role of the APP encompasses the beginnings of leadership, partnership, collaboration, and supervision. The APP establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients, and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The APP begins to demonstrate a commitment to the community and to their healthcare profession. The successful candidate will be placed according to years and months of experience for employment purposes.
