About The Position

To perform the daily operation of the dish machine and other assigned tasks. Ensures thorough cleaning and sanitizing of dishes while executing duties in a timely and organized manner following established policies and procedures, time a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Obtain and maintain a valid Non-Gaming Nooksack Tribal Gaming Agency License.
  • Obtain and maintain a Washington State Food Workers Card or an Indian Health Services Food Service Training Card within 14 days of initial employment.
  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
  • Knowledge of general kitchen operation.
  • Knowledge of proper rotation of foods and food safety.
  • Explicit knowledge of dish machine operation.
  • Basic knife skills.
  • Ability to use both hands.
  • Ability to manage sometimes difficult and fast paced work environment.
  • Ability to make quick decisions and change plans often and at a moments notice.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in demanding situations.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous dishwashing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Washes dishes, pots, pans, flatware, and glassware using the appropriate dish machine or hand washing method.
  • Maintains adequate soap, rinse and sanitizer chemical supply for the shift.
  • Maintains the dish machine and dish area in respects to cleanliness and deliming procedures as outlined in the dish machine manual.
  • Retrieves dirty dishes from bar, buffet and employee break areas in a timely fashion, being courteous to our guests and employees when in other areas of the casino.
  • Puts away clean dishes and other items in an orderly fashion minimizing breakage and putting them away in a safe manner.
  • Takes out trash in a timely fashion to avoid overflow and replaces empty trashcans with new trashcan liners.
  • Assists in training new dish machine operator personnel.
  • Whenever caught up helps out the crew with prep, cleaning, and/or other projects.
  • Observes sanitation, personal hygiene and safety procedures for the shift.
  • Assures entire staff observes clean and sanitize as you go policies.
  • Works in other areas of the kitchen as required.
  • Assists kitchen staff in maintaining an organized and clean department.
  • Other duties as assigned and/or required.
