About The Position

The primary responsibility of a P&A Pump Operator is to run and understand the flow and function of the pump and manifold systems and have a working knowledge of pressures and how to control them. This role requires the ability to rebuild and repack a pump, understand both suction and pressure manifolds, and possess a good mechanical understanding of the hydraulic system. The operator must be proficient in calculating fluid and cement volumes and be able to adjust, set, and reset pressure pop off valves. Additionally, the position demands tolerance, stamina, and flexibility to work outdoors in any weather conditions, a willingness to perform physically demanding tasks, and the ability to take direction while showing initiative. Participation in all required meetings, trainings, and development activities is also expected.

Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English and have good communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and safe work practices.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, volume, proportions, and discounts.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in the form of written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to trouble shoot and diagnose equipment problems.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools to perform a range of mechanically oriented functions including independent use of heavy-duty handheld and long-handled tools.

Responsibilities
